These are absolutely my favorites.
Traveling and seeing new lands with awesome couples!

As far as workflow, destination weddings follow the same workflow as a typical wedding – just in a different setting.

In terms of photography, there is a bit more flexibility in what I can do.
Some couples opt to do their newlywed photos the day after their wedding (typically sunset) so they can enjoy more time with their family and friends on the wedding day.
I’m not in a rush to go anywhere, so I’d be happy to travel a little bit and take some photos in cool and beautiful places!

If you have been to the location already, feel free to offer any suggestions on locations and we can work from there. I’d be glad to travel around to get the best shots~!
If you’re thinking of taking a hike, a helicopter, or any adventurous ideas, I’m 100% down with it.

I want to make this process as easy as possible and hassle-free.

For transparency: Destination wedding rates are the same as local wedding rates.
The day after the session is pro-bono; as it eases a lot of stress from the wedding day.

Details:

I arrive at the destination area 2 days prior to the wedding.
i.e. A Saturday wedding would be a Thursday arrival.
In the event there are unforeseen circumstances or delays while traveling, an extra day to travel is there as backup.
I would stay until Sunday morning – unless we plan on doing a session the next day.
Typically, I will be doing a bit of traveling around the area after the wedding, so we can discuss my exact travel plans and dates. Please feel free to tag along if you would like!
Fortunately, I live by 3 airports that make for different options.
The airports, in order of most convenient, are BWI, IAD, or DCA

Frequently Asked Questions

  • I’m willing to travel anywhere! It could be domestic or international!

Please contact me ASAP since your wedding may book several days in my calendar or the entire weekend and I need to make sure to clear my schedule for it.

For international travel, as a US citizen, I may need to apply for a visa and may take time.

  • For flights, I bring my photography equipment as carry on for safety. It’s already as light as possible, so this allows me to travel easily.

  • Not too different than local weddings, but I try to scout the location a day or two prior to the wedding day.

If you have a rehearsal dinner or a site visit the day before, please let me know. I will do everything to be there so I can check out the area for the best portraits.

After the wedding, I will be uploading the images immediately to an external hard drive and my laptop.

  • I deliver about 90 – 120 photos per hour. I typically overdeliver 🙂

  • 2-3 weeks after the event / wedding.

Previews for social media will be sent within 1-2 days of the wedding.

  • Sure thing! Just let me know and I can send a few galleries depending on your type of wedding and location.

  • I accept cheques, PayPal, or Venmo!

The deposit is half the total. The latter half of the payment is made prior to or on the day of the wedding

    The deposit is non-refundable.

  • Yes, I do have insurance on my equipment. In the event, something breaks no one is held liable. My insurance will cover the damages.

Also, many venues require a Certificate of Insurance (COI) as proof of insurance to be able to photograph at their venue.

  • Copyrights are there for legal purposes. I do retain the copyright as I want to be able to protect myself and you from any 3rd parties using the photos without our permission.

In terms of my own personal viewpoint, I want to share the photos – I have nothing holding me back from doing so – they are photos of you, your family, and your guests and you should be able to freely use them 🙂

I give full personal printing rights to all of my images.

You can also order professional prints through my online gallery store.

  • Typically, I photograph by myself.

If you would like another photographer to be there to capture more moments, let me know. I can arrange for another photographer to be there for an extra cost.

I have photographed 90% of my weddings by myself.

  • Nope! They are your friends and family! Whatever you say is a go!

An unplugged wedding isn’t always necessary, but I do appreciate it when there isn’t a large iPad being thrown up during the ceremony 😛

  • Absolutely! I think family formals are one of the most important photos of a wedding.

These are the photos that will last generations so it is vital these be taken.

They just don’t typically make it to the blog because privacy.

  • Yep, all of the photos are edited for color and exposure!

  • Generally, no.

Sometimes blemishes and such occur from wedding stress so I understand.

Those can be taken out on my side.

I’ll depend on hair and make up to do the majority of the job.

  • Yup! I really love elopements!

They provide a bit more of a personal touch and, generally, I find them to be more relaxed.

  • Of course! I think it is very important to get to know each other and see if our personalities are a fit before signing the contract.

    All questions are welcome!

Wedding planning can be difficult to navigate.

ELEE A LA CARTE SYSTEM

How does the a la carte system work?

Essentially, all products are side items.

You decide on things such as prints and albums – you are not obligated to go through me.

You still have access to download all the images at their full resolution without any watermarks and print on your own.

Print orders can be done online through the online gallery.

On the other hand, the album creation process will be done with me.

This allows for personalization, as well as, a simpler album creation process.

The album won’t be made until your final approval.

Please feel free to e-mail me for a full-pricing sheet for these a la carte items.

If you have any more questions, feel free to contact me!
